Social Proof Pop-up

Details on how to configure the social proof pop-up.

The social proof is arguably the most important factor in e-commerce. The reason for this is that if others see peers buying your products, they’re more likely to buy, themselves. Social Proof Pop-up applies this in the form of a slide-out pop-up on the bottom left corner of the screen.

Social Proof Pop-up Settings

1 The first step is to open the Social proof popup section of your theme config.

2 First, enable the social proof popup here.

3 Here you have the option to disable the social proof popup on mobile.

4 Now enter text start line.

Ex. 'Someone purchased a'.

5 Next up you have the option of editing the default text that goes along with the numerous variables. (useful for stores being built in other languages).

6 You can also enable demo data purchases if you want to do so.

It will show dummy data in popup using a selected collection product.

7 Select collection for demo data purchase.

Note: this will only works if you have enabled demo data purchase.

8 Select the minimum random value for time.

Step 8 image

9 Select the maximum random value for time.

10 Enable product title limit if you want to do so.

This is useful if you have long product titles on your store.

11 Select the number of words.

Note: this only works if you have enabled the Product title limit.

12 Now, enter place value separated by Pipe symbol(|).

Note: these values will be used in popup randomly.

13 Next is "Disable when closing".

Note: when enabled the popup will be disabled when the user closes it by clicking on the cross(X) icon.

14 Scroll down and select Cookie's lifetime.

15 Now, select real purchases text value between 'Only now' and 'Now and from period'.

16 Select purchases for the period between 1,12,24 and 48 hours.

17 Select the popup delay time.

Step 17 image

18 Select the popup min shift interval.

Step 18 image

19 Select the popup max shift interval.

Step 19 image

20 Select the popup max lifetime.

On mouse hover, it will stop switching.

21 Now, click save to save your theme config and preview your changes.

22 That's it. You're done.

Enable Pop-up – Toggles Social Proof on or off.

Disable Pop-up on mobile – Toggles Social Proof on or off on mobile devices. We recommend testing, however many users disable this function for faster load times on mobile, specifically.

Collection – Choose a collection that contains the products you wish to display inside of the social proof popup.

Display Message – Displays a message informing visitors that a purchase has been made. Ex: “Bought the”, “just bought”, or any other creative message.

Popup Frequency (In Seconds) – Specifies the time-frequency Social Proof will popup to visitors. The default is 15s.
